Zolita Sverdlove

Drawings of California Landscapes, Seascapes, Still Lifes, Figures and Nudes

During her lifetime (1936-2009) Zolita Sverdlove created several thousand drawings in various media (pen, pencil, charcoal, mixed media, ...) mainly black and white, but sometimes in color. Almost all the work is on high-grade Arches or similar paper. These include landscapes, figures, nudes, still life, and seascapes. Her technique varied from heavily developed baroque drawings to sparse line drawings. Some of these drawings served as precursors to oil paintings but most were self-contained art works. These drawings span the entire range of her artistic life from around 1956 to 2009.
